Unlike commodity listing sites, CLASSIC.COM applies strict image guidelines to ensure buyers can easily distinguish vehicle features.
To maintain visual clarity and uniformity, the following guidelines apply to all listing images on CLASSIC.COM:
- Images must be high-resolution and free from watermarks, promotional content, or branding overlays that distract from the vehicle or include contact information.
- If a seller logo is present, it must be no larger than 5% of the image area, placed discreetly in a corner. Logos that naturally appear in the background, such as on showroom walls or signage, are acceptable as long as they do not detract from the vehicle or contain contact information.
- Images must be of the exact vehicle being advertised. We do not allow "placeholder" or "coming soon" images.
Primary Image Guidelines
We employ a combination of AI and human review to assign a primary image to each listing through the following process:
-
Seller Image Check – We first look at the primary image provided in the feed from the seller. If this image meets our requirements, we use it as the primary image.
-
Right-Facing 3/4 Profile Preference – If the primary image provided by the seller contains branding or contact information or is not a 3/4 profile of the vehicle, our system searches for a clean right-facing 3/4 profile image of the vehicle.
-
Left-Facing 3/4 Profile Alternative – If a clean right-facing image isn't available, we look for a left-facing 3/4 profile image instead.
-
Human Curation – If none of the above options are available, our expert curators step in to select the most appropriate image based on a set of established rules and preferences developed over time to best showcase the vehicle on our platform. The more images that are provided by the seller, the better and more consistent the curation and display of vehicle lots can be.
Our goal is to showcase each vehicle properly, ensuring buyers can easily distinguish key vehicle features at a glance.
Dealers & Auctions: Due to our curation process, images may appear in a different order on CLASSIC.COM than on your website. This is a feature of our platform to showcase the images in a standardized manner for our users. If you have any questions about the images on your listing(s), our Partner Support team is happy to assist.
