Understanding the analytics for your Listing

What is an "impression" or a "view"? We breakdown the meaning of analytics terms shown in your dashboard.

When you list a vehicle on CLASSIC.COM, we show you how your listing is performing through analytics. These are common statistics used to measure online advertising. Below is a definition of the common terms used.

Note: Analytics on CLASSIC.COM are updated once daily at night. They are not updated in real-time. New listings may take up to 24 hours to show initial counts.

What is an Impression?

An impression is a count of the number of times a vehicle was presented to a user on CLASSIC.COM. When a page is loaded, and a vehicle listing is presented on the screen, we count an impression. Impressions include many types of presentation formats, including search result listings, market listings, and comparable sales found on vehicle detail pages.

What is a View?

view is a count of the number of times a user loads a dedicated view of a vehicle on CLASSIC.COM. For example, views are counted when vehicle detail pages or individual vehicle lot pages are loaded by a user.

What is an Inquiry?

An inquiry is a count of the number of times a user submits the "Contact Seller" form on a vehicle details page. These emails are sent to the email address associated with the listing owner's account on CLASSIC.COM.

What is a Referral?

For Private Seller listings, a referral is a count of the number of times a user has opened the "Contact Seller" form. Note that this number may vary from your Inquiry total, as not all users that open the form complete a full inquiry.

For Dealer or Auction listings, referrals also includes the number of times a user clicks on a link to your website in the CLASSIC.COM user interface. These user actions result in a new browser window opening and the Dealer or Auction website loading in that browser window. Note: these referrals are only counted as actions in the CLASSIC.COM interface, and do not count the number of users that successfully loaded content on another website. Due to this difference, Dealers or Auctions should expect the CLASSIC.COM referral count and referrals reported in other web analytics reporting to vary.
