How to Mark a Listing as "Upcoming Auction"

Verified Sellers can mark listings as “Upcoming Auction” to temporarily hide the asking price and link their dealership to the auction sale. This helps increase your visibility on CLASSIC.COM and ensures your dealership gets credit for the sale once the auction ends.

How it works

  1. Start with a listing currently marked “For Sale” in your account.
Do not remove the listing from your feed or mark it as “Closed.”
  2. In your account, update the listing status to “Coming to Auction.”
The process works slightly differently for Feed-based and Manual dealers – see the instructions below.
  3. The listing will show as “Upcoming Auction” until the live auction is detected.
Once the auction listing is live, the status will display as “For Sale at [Auction Name] by [Dealer Name].”
  4. After the auction ends:
    1. If the vehicle sells, the listing will update to “Sold at [Auction Name] by [Dealer Name]” and reflect in your Sold listings.
    2. If the reserve was not met, the listing will revert to “For Sale” in your account.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I hide the price so that the auction can start?
That’s exactly what this feature does! When you mark a listing as “Coming to Auction,” the asking price is automatically hidden and replaced with an “Upcoming Auction” status.
  • Which auctions does this work with?
You can use this feature for any live or online auction partner whose listings appear on CLASSIC.COM – which includes most major auction houses. If you’re working with an auction that isn’t yet included, let us know!  View our auction data sources >
  • Can I connect auction results that are in the past?
We’d love to include your past auction results, but this can’t be done automatically. Our Partner Support team can assist with adding those manually. Email Partner Support >
