If the reading is in kilometers, we will automatically display the converted mileage in miles next to it.
At CLASSIC.COM, we strive to provide accurate and transparent vehicle data to ensure buyers and sellers have the best information possible. One key detail in every listing is the odometer reading, which indicates the mileage displayed on the vehicle's odometer.
Entering Odometer Readings
When listing a vehicle on CLASSIC.COM, please follow these guidelines for the odometer field:
-
Enter the exact number displayed on the vehicle's odometer.
-
Indicate whether the reading is in miles or kilometers by selecting the appropriate option.
-
Most vehicles in the U.S. will display mileage in miles.
-
Some vehicles from other countries (or originally manufactured for international markets) will display mileage in kilometers (km).
-
There is no need to convert kilometers to miles manually—our system will handle that for you.
How We Display Odometer Readings
We display the odometer reading exactly as it is shown in the vehicle. If the reading is in kilometers, we will automatically display the converted mileage in miles next to it.
Example display:
-
Odometer: 50,000 km (31,068 miles)
-
Odometer: 40,000 miles
This ensures clarity for all users, regardless of their preferred unit of measurement.
For Listings Provided via a Feed
If you are submitting listings to CLASSIC.COM via a data feed, please ensure your feed includes:
-
A field for the odometer reading (numeric value only).
-
A separate field labeled "odometer_type" with a value of "km" if the reading is in kilometers or "mi" if the reading is in miles.
This allows our system to correctly interpret and display the mileage without confusion. You can also include a field called "is_tmu" with options for "true" and "false" if the total mileage of the vehicle is unknown.
