What types of cars are listed on CLASSIC.COM?

At CLASSIC.COM, we are building the most comprehensive and accurate database of specialty vehicles in the world.

We use a combination of advanced artificial intelligence and human expertise to evaluate every listing ingested into our system – whether it comes from an auction house, dealer feed, or manually entered by a private seller. This ensures that only vehicles meeting our strict qualifications are listed as specialty cars on CLASSIC.COM.

What qualifies as a specialty car?

Specialty cars are vehicles with unique qualities that set them apart from standard, commodity used cars. These include:

  • Classics: Timeless vehicles with historical significance.
  • Vintage Cars: Older vehicles that hold a special place in automotive history.
  • Exotics: Rare and exclusive high-performance cars.
  • High-Line Vehicles: Luxury cars with premium features and craftsmanship.
  • Sportscars and Supercars: Vehicles designed for high performance and speed.
  • Other Specialty Vehicles: Cars with unique attributes whose value trends over time.

Unlike commodity used cars, specialty vehicles often maintain or increase in value due to their uniqueness, desirability, and/or historical importance.

How our system works

Our system reviews every listing ingested into our database based on key specs, including but not limited to:

  • Year
  • Make
  • Model
  • Model Family
  • Model Generation
  • Model Variant
  • Model Trim
  • Engine
  • Transmission
  • Body Style

If a vehicle meets our qualifications as a specialty car, it will be listed on Classic.com. If it does not meet these criteria, it will not appear on the site. This ensures that Classic.com remains a trusted platform for specialty vehicles.

Why some listings may still be shown.

While our system is robust, we continuously refine it to improve accuracy. Listings ingested before 2024 may not have been properly reviewed or removed if they did not meet our standards. We encourage you to report any non-specialty vehicle listings you come across so we can address them promptly.
