Verified Buyer Program

Starting September 2025, CLASSIC.COM is rolling out a new Verified Buyer feature designed to make offers safer, more transparent, and more effective for both buyers and sellers.

The Verified Buyer Program is designed to make the offer process safer and more reliable for everyone. Buyers complete a quick identity check before submitting an offer, which gives sellers confidence that they’re dealing with serious, qualified leads. Offers are kept within a fair range of the asking price, and buyer details remain private until an offer is accepted.

For buyers, it means identity confidentiality, a smoother path to negotiation, and a better chance of closing the deal. For sellers, it means increased exposure and access to serious high-intent buyers.

How It Works for Buyers

  1. Click “Make Offer”
On any listing with the feature enabled, you’ll see a "Make Offer" button on the Vehicle Detail Page (VDP).

  2. Verify Your Identity
Before submitting your first offer, you’ll go through a one-time identity check with our third-party partner, Stripe. This ensures all buyers are verified and serious.

  3. Submit an Offer
Your offer is sent directly to the seller for review. Note: Offers must be within 20% of the seller’s asking price (no low-ballers).

  4. Negotiate Securely
If the seller doesn’t accept right away, you’ll be able to negotiate directly through CLASSIC.COM without revealing your personal contact information. Your contact details remain private unless your offer is accepted.

  5. Closing the Deal
Once the seller accepts, your information will be shared, and both parties agree to act in good faith to complete the transaction within 30 days. The sale itself happens directly between buyer and seller.

How It Works for Sellers

  1. “Make Offer” Button on Listings
Verified Sellers get increased exposure and a "Make Offer" button included on all Vehicle pages.

  2. Offer Notifications
You’ll be alerted when a Verified Buyer submits an offer. You can accept, counter, or reject any offer.

  3. Confidential Buyer Info
Buyer details remain private until you accept an offer.

  4. Accepting an Offer
Once you accept, a $499 fee is invoiced to your account and the buyer’s contact details are shared with you. Both you and the buyer agree to act in good faith to complete the sale within 30 days. The transaction is completed directly between you and the buyer.

  5. Cancellation
If the transaction is not completed for any reason, please notify Partner Support so that the fee invoice can be cancelled, and we can review the Buyer's standing on our platform.

This feature is being introduced incrementally across Verified Seller accounts. If you’re a Verified Seller and would like early access, please email partnersupport@classic.com

Frequently Asked Questions

Does CLASSIC.COM charge any buyer fees?
No. There are no buyer fees for offers made through the Verified Buyer Program.

Why do I need to verify?

Verification helps protect both buyers and sellers. Sellers want to know that offers are real and that the person making the offer is ready to move forward. It also helps reduce spam, lowball offers, and fraudulent activity.

How do I get verified?

You’ll be asked to provide a government-issued ID and a quick selfie through our secure partner, Stripe. The process usually takes just a few minutes.

Will my information be shared with the seller?

Not right away. Your personal contact information stays confidential until your offer is accepted. At that point, your details are shared so you and the seller can finalize the deal.

Are there limits on the offers I can make?

Yes. Offers must be within 20% of the asking price. This ensures all offers are reasonable and taken seriously by sellers.

How does negotiation work?

Once you submit an offer, the seller can accept, decline, or counter. You’ll be able to negotiate back and forth directly through CLASSIC.COM until a deal is reached.

What happens if my offer is accepted?

Your contact information will be shared with the seller, and you both agree to work in good faith to close the deal within 30 days. The actual payment and vehicle transfer happen directly between you and the seller — CLASSIC.COM is not a party to the transaction.
